Preparation of basic data

The data preparation of basic data such as terrain and buildings, the spatial matching of traffic networks or the modeling of traffic sections and noise barriers in 3D is one of our strengths. For this purpose, we use many self-developed functionalities for data preparation from D-noise as well as the geo tools from ArcGIS Pro.

Building preparation and linking of GWR data

Based on swisBUILDINGS 3D V2, we intersect buildings with the current AV floor plans and convert the multipatches into individual roof surfaces (in preparation for noise calculation). This transfers the EGID on the one hand and models new buildings on the other—even buildings that are only in the planning stage can be modeled. The buildings can be enriched with current GWS and GWR data.

Spatial matching of different transport networks

It is often necessary to merge many different data sets from different data sources. For road noise, the geometries can come from swissTLM, for example, the traffic from a GVM, and the road surfaces and signaled speeds from other data sets. In addition, the attributes or emission levels of ASTRA for federal highways often have to be transferred.

3D modeling of traffic sections

swissTLM already offers a very good basis today. Nevertheless, it is often necessary to place traffic sections on the terrain or to model bridges in 3D. With D-noise, modeling is automated and can be graphically checked and corrected in longitudinal section.

3D modeling of sound propagation barriers

Often, only the location and height of sound propagation barriers are known; we model them in 3D. In addition, noise barriers can be modeled as floating on bridges and their height can be modeled in relation to the traffic section.

Modeling of bridges

Building on the 3D modeling of traffic sections and sound propagation barriers, D-noise offers a tool for determining the bridge width. In this step, the shielding is also set automatically based on the modeled sound propagation barriers.

Noise calculation

Based on our software solutions, we carry out road, railway, aircraft and shooting noise calculations for our customers, evaluate the results and create noise pollution registers and noise reports.

Sound propagation calculation

D-noise uses CadnaA for sound propagation calculation in accordance with ISO9613-2 (1996 and 2024) or SEMIBEL. In addition to the sound exposure, the attenuations are also imported back into D-noise.

Sound exposure calculation from attenuation data

Once the complex propagation calculation has been imported, D-noise can be used to calculate various scenarios with changes to the source efficiently and with significant time savings. Changes to the propagation path can also be updated locally and thus calculated more quickly.

Noise assessment

The noise assessment is carried out as standard as a building assessment, separated into residential and commercial use. The dominant façade point or optionally the loudest façade point are determined. An equivalent floor-specific assessment of residential units can be carried out.

Evaluations with D-noise analytics

D-noise analytics is a powerful evaluation tool that can be used to create and reuse any queries. Whether you need statistics on people exceeding limit values, extracts per municipality, or evaluations of sound exposure grids, we are happy to create customized queries for you.

Studies and potential analyses

With the help of D-noise, we can create studies on the influence of reflections or, for example, the new ISO standard 9613 (2024). We support you in planning measures and create scenarios for you with the implementation of new measures such as 30 km/h speed limits, new road surfaces, or noise barriers.

Export interfaces

In addition to the predefined export formats such as minimal geodata models, we can configure individual interfaces according to your needs. Whether for internal purposes or publication in a web GIS. In addition, data from D-noise can be exported to CadnaA. Our D-noise web services offer the best option for providing your calculations.
